Teen Pregnancy & Parenting

Arkansas has historically ranked among the highest in teen birth rates. This brief tracks trends since 2015, highlights disparities, and inventories supports for young parents.

What We Track

  • Teen birth rate (per 1,000 females ages 15–19), 2015–2025
  • Disparities by race/ethnicity and rural vs. urban counties
  • Program supports: home visiting, childcare, re-engagement in school

Methods

We normalize by age-specific population and note any breaks in series. Small counts are pooled over two to three years and marked in footnotes. When feasible, comparisons are given against regional and national benchmarks.
